In this episode, Olivia opens up about her recent birthday and the mix of emotions that came with turning nineteen. She shares how the day didn't quite go as planned — in fact, it turned into an adventure she never expected. Picture this: Olivia and her best friend sliding down snowy roads in Tahoe, in the pitch black, with Olivia behind the wheel for the first time ever in snow. The situation quickly went from a fun experience to a panic moment when her best friend had to call 911. Yeah, you could say, “We’re young and dumb.”

But, this chaotic birthday got Olivia thinking about the anxiety of turning nineteen. Last year, at eighteen, she felt like she was finally getting her life together—car payments, university enrollment, a stable job, a social life, and goals that made her feel on track. Now, at nineteen, she feels like she’s back to square zero, completely lost, and questioning where she’s supposed to go next. The pressure to be more “adult” than she was at eighteen is real, but it’s unclear what that even looks like. Olivia dives deep into the awkward in-between stage of adulthood and adolescence, where she still feels like a kid but is expected to act grown-up.

She also gets real about the struggles she faced growing up, particularly around birthdays, and how they were complicated by an emotionally absent father. The difficulty of celebrating when the foundation of family support wasn’t there still lingers for her today.

But, as always, Olivia looks ahead and talks about her hopes for the year of nineteen. It’s about growth, facing the unknown, and creating new plans—even when the journey feels unclear. This episode is all about embracing the messiness of life, learning how to move forward when things aren’t perfect, and realizing that sometimes, the road to being your best self doesn’t look the way you expected.

Tune in to hear Olivia’s reflections, struggles, and what she’s hoping to accomplish this year as she navigates the unpredictable ride of nineteen.

About Me

Modeling 3.JPG

I’m a nineteen-year-old student studying Business Management and Marketing, with a lifelong passion for creativity and innovation. Born in Paso Robles, California, and now residing in Northern California, I come from a family that’s shaped who I am today. While biologically the youngest of three, I have a diverse family dynamic with the addition of two step-siblings and two half-siblings, which has given me a unique perspective on relationships and growth.

From a young age, competitive soccer and academics were at the center of my life, which led those closest to me to often describe me as "Type-A," "Perfectionist," or even a "Control Freak." These traits helped me push myself in many areas, but they also came with their challenges. Over the years, I’ve faced a variety of obstacles, including battling mental health struggles, dealing with physical setbacks, navigating the complexities of relationships, and confronting the weight of breaking generational curses. In the past three years, I've faced some of the toughest challenges yet. After being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, I had to make the difficult decision to step away from competitive soccer, a sport that had been such a huge part of my life. The physical and mental toll was overwhelming, but I adapted and found new ways to push through. I also graduated high school early to pursue my education and became a first-generation university student.

These experiences have shaped my passion for helping others and empowered me to share my story. My goal with this podcast is to create a platform where I can connect with listeners, inspire them to overcome their own obstacles, and encourage them to become the best versions of themselves. Life is full of ups and downs, but it’s how we rise from them that defines us, and I hope this podcast can serve as a reminder that we’re all capable of greatness.
